The Trial of Ahmad H.
The trial of Ahmad H. began on May 17, 2024 in Hamburg, Germany where he is accused of committing 21 counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity. Those include causing physical and mental pain, enslavement, cruel and inhuman treatment, and deprivation of physical liberty under threat of a dangerous weapon. The alleged crimes took place between 2012 – 2015 while the Accused was serving as a member of a Shabiha militia, which operated as part of the National Defense Forces.
