A Note on the Delayed Translation of SJAC Trial Reports

Since the beginning of the Anwar R. and Eyad A. trial in Koblenz, SJAC trial monitors have attended every trial session and produced highly-detailed summaries of the proceedings. Each trial monitoring report has been subject to several layers of review, including legal review by the ICWC. We have also translated the full content of each report into Arabic for the benefit of our Arabic-speaking readership, particularly Syrians with an interest in the trial. The resources required for this endeavor are not insignificant and SJAC has sought independent sources of funding to continue this project. Unfortunately, the cost of Arabic language translation has exceeded present means, and we have been forced to delay the translation of our full trial reports until a funding source is identified. We will continue to attend trial proceedings and to publish full English language reports. We will also continue to publish brief summaries in Arabic. We hope to publish the full reports in Arabic as soon as possible.
