SJAC’s 34th trial monitoring report details day 61 of the trial of Twana H.S. and Asia R.A. in Munich, Germany. On this trial day, both Accused had the opportunity to speak their last words. While Twana H.S. chose to say nothing, Asia R.A. apologized for what happened.
Day 61 – June 30, 2026
On this trial day, the Court gave both of the Accused the opportunity to say any last words after the parties to the proceedings had already provided their closing arguments. The Court explained that they had the option to say anything at all, including not saying anything.
After speaking to his Defense Team for a minute, Twana H.S. told the Court that he did not want to say anything.
Asia R.A. said a sentence in Sorani, which had to be interpreted. Due to technical difficulties it took a few minutes until the interpreter could interpret what Asia R.A. had said. Asia R.A. then apologized for what happened and agreed with the statement of her Defense.
The proceedings were adjourned at 10:12 PM.
The next trial day will be on July 13, 2026, at 9:00 AM.
