Inside the Raslan Trial: The one who is arrested is lost; The one who is released is newborn
SJAC’s 41st trial monitoring report details days 82 & 83 of the trial of Anwar Raslan in Koblenz. On the first day a Syrian witness described the bad detention conditions and torture that was established at Al-Khatib Branch prior to 2011. The court also heard the testimony of a plaintiff who identified Raslan as head of the Branch who ordered that the witness be tortured after an interrogation. The witness also identified two people on screenshots of YouTube videos and explained that both were detained at Al-Khatib Branch and died there under torture during the indictment period.
