Inside the Raslan Trial: Prosecution: ‘Life Sentence Expected’

SJAC’s 48th trial monitoring report details day 96 of the trial of Anwar Raslan in Koblenz. The Court heard from the former brother-in-law of a previous witness in this trial. He was requested to testify by the Defense. However, he could not provide any information about the previous witness’s and her sisters’ detention or the previous witness’s mental health. The Prosecutors objected to requests to hear addition evidence arguing that Raslan’s alleged efforts to help others and alleged critical attitude towards the regime were irrelevant to his guilt. They also noted that he should expect a life sentence for committing crimes against humanity.
