#53 Inside the Raslan Trial: An unexpected witness, a missing witness, and a rejected witnesses

SJAC’s 53rd trial monitoring report details days 103 & 104 of the trial of Anwar Raslan in Koblenz. On the first day, the Court heard from a former detainee at Branch 251. The Defense questioned the witness about a summary of his statements that was previously submitted to the Prosecutors by Anwar Al-Bunni. Because the summary detailed incriminating information that the witness did not confirm in court, the Defense claimed that there was an ‘Al-Bunni’ problem. On the second day, the Judges rejected several of the Defense’s requests to hear additional witnesses. The Court also heard about the interview of a former doctor at the Red Crescent hospital by the police, whose whereabouts are currently unknown.
