Inside the Raslan Trial: The People Were Monsters but the Cockroaches Were Kind

SJAC’s 40th trial monitoring report details day 81 of the trial of Anwar Raslan in Koblenz. A Syrian plaintiff described his detention at Al-Khatib Branch and how he was amongst other tortured with electro shocks. To this day, he suffers from the consequences of his detention but now is receiving psychosocial support. In solitary confinement, he spoke to cockroaches but came to believe his interrogators were monsters. He also described one instance, when he met a young boy of about 15 years old, who had been raped with a wooden broom stick by an interrogation officer.
