Inside the Raslan Trial: The Czech and a Journalist: “the corpse’s head knocked against each step”
SJAC’s 18th trial monitoring report details days 43, 44, and 45 of the trial of Anwar Raslan and Eyad Al Gharib in Koblenz, Germany. On the first and second days, the court heard the expert testimony of Christopher Engels from the Commission for International Justice and Accountability (CIJA). Engels outlined numerous documents showing hierarchies of security centers and how orders were given. He also explained how the testimony of seven witness confirmed that Raslan (codenamed Czech) was the head of the Interrogation Unit at Branch 251. The witness on the third day was a 43-year-old female journalist from Damascus.
