Inside the Raslan Trial: “Impertinence!” Defense Counsel questions the role of Anwar Al-Bunni

SJAC’s 44th trial monitoring report details days 88 & 89 of the trial of Anwar Raslan in Koblenz. On the first day, a plaintiff testified about his detention at Al-Khatib during which he also spent nine days at Harasta hospital where he saw corpses piled up at the toilet. On the second day, another plaintiff testified about his detention at Al-Khatib in summer 2012. He explained that his detention was relatively short and less violent due to bribes paid by his family. Both testimonies were called into question by the defense, pointing at the plaintiffs’ relationship with Anwar Al-Bunni.
