Inside the Raslan Trial: Good Cop – Bad Cop
SJAC’s 45th trial monitoring report details days 90 & 91 of the trial of Anwar Raslan in Koblenz. On the first day, the witness described how a raid on his town led many people to be detained in Al-Khatib. He experienced torture and beatings, yet does not know if he met Raslan. On the second day, an artist testified about his two meetings with Raslan while he was detained for three days in Al-Khatib. He compared the meetings to a play or show where each person was just playing a part. The witness was released without facing torture, but testified that Raslan could most likely hear the screams of torture from his office. Read more here.
