Inside the Raslan Trial: Disproportionate restriction on the Defense?
SJAC’s 50th trial monitoring report details days 99 &100 of the trial of Anwar Raslan in Koblenz. On the first day, the Prosecutors’ objected to requests to hear witnesses previously submitted by the Defense. On the second day, the Defense submitted eight more requests to hear insider witnesses testify about Raslan’s pro-opposition attitude, his limited power at Branch 251, and his assistance to detainees. The Defense also claimed that the Prosecutors’ requirements for evidence requests would significantly restrict the Defense’s work.
