Inside the Raslan Trial: A Forensic Analysis of the Caesar Photos
SJAC’s seventeenth trial monitoring report details days 41 and 42 of the trial of Anwar Raslan and Eyad Al Gharib in Koblenz, Germany. On the first day, a forensics professor provided a detailed presentation of his and his colleagues’ analysis of the Caesar files, which they conducted on behalf of the BKA. He spoke about different kinds of injuries, signs of torture and starvation that they identified on the bodies pictured in the Caesar files. He also connected the forensic results to witness testimonies on the situation in Syrian detention facilities, confirming that most of them can be validated by the Caesar files.
