Higher Regional Court – Frankfurt, Germany
Trial Monitoring Summary #20
Hearing Date: August 12, 2022
SJAC’s 20th trial monitoring report details day 29 of the trial of Alaa M. in Frankfurt, Germany. After watching a short clip of a man with a blurred face talking about his experiences being mistreated at the Homs Military Hospital, the defense team continued questioning the second survivor-witness in the trial. The witness affirmed that he was in the video, but that he did not agree to its publication, nor did he know that it was published. Once there were no more questions related to the video, the in-court questioning of the second survivor witness in the trial was completed.
CAUTION: Some testimony includes descriptions of torture.
Note that this summary is not a verbatim transcript of the trial; it is merely an unofficial summary of the proceedings.
