NPR - YouTube Inadvertently Erases Syrian War Videos In Purge Of Extremist Propaganda
NPR’s Kelly McEvers speaks to Syria Justice and Accountability Centre (SJAC) Executive Director Mohammad Al Abdallah and Sarah El Deeb of the Associated Press about YouTube’s efforts to eliminate videos of extremist content from its website and how it may hinder future Syria war crimes trials.
Al Abdallah explains that YouTube videos are also critical to law enforcement identifying extremists such as Jihadi John, the ISIS extremist who executed U.S. journalist James Foley.
